Supporters

A Crossing of Iceland is connected with a lot of material- and food expenses, which is why we decided to look for supporters. We contacted companies that are in line with our values and asked them for support. The support consisted completely out of material donations and product discounts. There was no actual sponsoring in the form of financial support. Whenever we mention or have mentioned supporters or their products by name, it is only because we are personally convinced of the company and its products. In no case we are obligated to any product placements.

Prior to our tour our local outdoor store supported us with a lot of know-how, competence and contacts. The Basislager-team was always available to answer our questions.

Our regional organic market supported us before and during the trip with many delicious products. The Füllhorn BioMarkt's product range is really huge and completely sustainable.

The Waterlily seems to be the perfect device for charging small electrical devices (e.g. camera, mobile phone, GPS clock) with wind and water via USB. You can read about how we have fared with it here.

With the Enomad Uno, the power of the water can be used to generate energy, which is stored in an internal battery. This can then be used to charge various devices via USB. You can read here how we have fared with it here.

In order to defy any Icelandic weather, a tunnel tent had to come from Hilleberg. The durable tents of the Swedish family business Hilleberg stand like tanks and withstand the most extreme weather conditions as long as they are correctly erected.

Voluminous, robust, enough storage space and a well thought-out carrying system - that's what a backpack has to be able to do on such a tour. And Bach backpacks are the perfect choice for those conditions!

Naturally valuable organic ingredients, perfect weight/kcal ratio, sustainable packaging and world saver by planting one tree per Nucao bar sold. It had to go to Iceland!

We wanted to have Seeberger's high-quality nuts and dried fruits with us, because Seeberger pays attention to sustainable and resource-conserving, if possible regional production.

We wanted to have the freeze-dried fruits of Buah-Fruits as a daily extra vitamin boost in our muesli, because only ripe fruits without additives are processed. The muesli was delicious with them!

The Ritter Sport chocolate is produced in our region and is simply practical and the many types are simply good and tasty. That's why we just wanted to have the Ritter Sport chocolate with us.

So that no medical problem would have surprised us, we asked the Medical Care Center Bietigheim to fill our "Medipak". In a quick course we also learned how to stitch cuts.

The feet are the biggest capital on a long hike. In order to keep our feet healthy and efficient the whole way, we wanted the individually adjusted insoles from Buderer Orthopädie-Schuhtechnik.

The motto of the myclimate foundation "Do your best & compensate the rest" fits perfectly with our values to travel as sustainably as possible. With myclimate, you can offset the individual CO2 emissions generated by the various forms of transport.
